Eindhoven is, along with Philips, inseparable from ”Van Doorne’s Aanhangwagen Fabriek”, in one short word DAF. The company is known for its cars, lorries and trucks that are sold and driven all over the world!
The history of DAF has found a great home in the DAF Museum on the “Tongelresestraat” in Eindhoven. Along with many other things the nostalgic Daf cars are displayed.
VVV Eindhoven has put together a beautiful Kempen-tour (the “Kempen” is the country area surrounding Eindhoven and covering many small and typical villages) and a Daf City Tour (available in March) for you, where you can view Eindhoven through the eyes of a DAF 33 (a very popular car in the Netherlands in the sixties). You drive the Daf yourself of course!
Tips:
Take along VVV Tour Guide and you hear all ins and outs of Eindhoven .....
Stop underway at one of the many nice restaurants or pubs that Eindhoven and surroundings have to offer….
Combine your DAF Tour with a visit to the DAF Museum…. or one of the many other museums in Eindhoven!
Important information: There are no seat belts in the old DAF’s. These are also do not obliged in these models.
